Morning gents, I am strongly seeking some form of hard graft to support my family. I have just been layed off and can't find anything for love nor money. I will do most things, I am a good general labourer/builder but also have call centre experience and an NVQ in hospitality. All well and good I suppose but if the truth be told id knock up muck all day for 50 quid! Desperate times. I live in Essex.

I know you're Essex but I've just had a bloke round my house snagging. He reckons they can't get labourers in milton Keynes for love nor money. I think it's david wilson homes. Can ring the fella for a contact of you were interested

Losing a job as a family breadwinner is probably one of the most stressful, unpleasant yet normal feelings I've ever had.
You are doing the right thing though by activating your social capital and I'm sure you will back in work and better equipped for the experience by the end of next week. Meanwhile, please excuse my earlier flippant remarks, they were not meant in disrespect.

I think the Addy Lee gig is okay if you can do 60-70 hours a week. Probably not worth doing less than 50 hours but it's hardly graft is it?

My dad was a grave digger when he was a student many moons ago

My cousins first job was as a grave digger. He said it was knackering work, damp and cold in winter. His boss could see he was getting depressed so pulled him to one side, told him he would never have to work outside in the elements again and that he had been promoted to embalmist.
